Item <-> Subitem behavior

I would like to propose having the features suggested below for an item that has subitems.

  1. Timeline or Start/End dates should reflect the earliest and latest dates of the associated subitems.
  2. Being able to set dependency between a subitem to an item (and vice versa).
  3. Having the option to populate item’s data into its subitems in a seamless way (NOT by connecting boards and mirroring).

Thank you!
Baruch

Hi Baruch,

I think that I have solutions for 1 + 3:

  1. You can select “Show Summary on parent Item” in the date column menu, which will show a timeline Mirror column with the start - end timeline of subitem dates. This summary information can even be used in Gantt charts as a timeline.

  2. You can use market place apps like Copy Paste Master to create board automations that allow item data to appear in text or number based subitem cells in a seamless way.

If you need any help with implementing either for these solutions, feel free to contact me via my site at alldayit.com, or pm me here.

Hey Baruch,

We developed an app that solves requirements 2+3 and are now working on supporting number 1 as well.

First - Being able to set dependency between a subitem to an item -

Second - Populate item’s data into its subitems in a seamless way

It’s brand new (released last week) and we’re going to keep on adding new capabilities.
You can check it out here - https://monday.com/marketplace/10000287

Hope that helps!
