I wanted to share that I just launched Column Groups for grouping columns together vertically. It went live in the marketplace a couple days ago and I’d love to hear from real users trying it out.
It let’s you reduce the tedious horizontal scrolling on wide boards, colorize columns for quick visual identification, and allows custom groups at either the item group level (i.e. within each horizontal group) or globally across all the groups in a board.
I have some ideas for improvements to make it better across entire teams, but I still need to hear from real users to learn more about the actual use cases like this.

This looks like it would be helpful - can you pin by color?
What would be super helpful is different groups having different columns. On a few of our boards, certain columns only apply to one groups and it makes for a lot of scrolling. If column groups could be applied to actual groups - I think that would be a double win!
This looks like a great tool, but I would love it if it were directly integrated into Monday. It becomes cost-prohibitive to have so many add-ons, and this seems like a pretty basic functionality. Thanks for coming up with the idea, however.
This looks very helpful but I agree that it should be a part of the base product to keep boards organized. It is also currently difficult to reorganize boards since you can’t select multiple columns and move them together. Having the ability to group columns would be great.
