Link sub items to an existing parent progress bar

I can see that if you select “show summary progress on parent item” on teh sub items progress it will create a new parent progress bar in the main item, however i want to link teh subitem progress to an existing parent progress bar. How do i do this please? I don’t want to add another parent progress bar when there already is one recording the progress of items in the board.

Hey there!

The main way to do this would be to use the subitem roll-up, as you described. You could replace the progress bar you have with this subitem progress roll-up.

However, if this doesn’t work for you, perhaps you could use a Battery Widget or other type of progress bar widget in a Dashboard (or Dashboard View) and select both subitems and items to be shown.

I had a similar question, but my issue is that only some of my items have subitems. So if I use the subitem progress roll-up some of my items are blank because they don’t have subitems. So I either have two columns for progress, or have a lot of blanks. Is there a way to address this?
