Master Board

I face the following problem: I have set up a sales-type board for each of my 3 team members. Each one has their own board with a list of the different deals each one is handling. I want all 3 boards to have EXACTLY THE SAME LAYOUT AND FUNCTIONALITY. I have not been able to figure this out yet.

This is sadly NOT solved by having a template, as the template only affects the layout of the board upon creation of that new board. I run into trouble when I make additions to the board:

  • I decide to add a new column to one board (need to manually add it to the other 2)
  • I create a new view for one (run over and try to replicate it for the other 2)
  • Develop new automations (clumsily copy each automation another 2 times for the other boards)
  • Decide that a list of statuses is not very clear, so change the wording of the some of the statuses (keep an MS word doc open while I go to the other 2 boards and update their lists of statuses)

Etc.

I would like one ring to rule them all. Note that the CONTENTS of the boards should not be available across boards, as each team member needs to handle their own deals… but all the essential formatting: columns, automations, views, lists of statuses should be the same as the Master board, and changes to one should mean changes to all.

Is this in any way possible?

@Chris932: One way to do this would be to use the one Main Board but have three different views - filtered for each team member. That way, if you make a change to the main board, it can apply to all three team members.

You can share the link to filtered view with each team member and adjust permissions so others cannot see the main board or other views, if you’d like.

(It works for a small team like the one that you have but would be more problematic to scale for a larger team.)
