More layout options for pdf:s generated from a WorkDoc

We would like to have more layout options for the pdf generated from a Monday WorkDoc. Here are some of our needs:

  • Add a logotype in the upper left corner on all pages
  • Exclude certain information from the pdf (i.e. instructions)
  • Change the font family
  • Automatically remove the border around dynamic values used in a workdoc
  • Add a header and a footer section
  • Select where to add a page break

Kind regards,
Therese

Would a facility to export to Word from workdocs help with this? I am thinking about adding this to Word Import

We actually built a solution for this with The PDF Maker, which integrates directly with Monday. It lets you:

  • Upload your own logo (in the header or anywhere on the page)
  • Fully customize the layout using drag-and-drop placeholders
  • Exclude certain fields or sections (like instructions or internal notes)
  • Choose your font family, size, and spacing
  • Add headers, footers, and even page numbers across all pages
  • Define exactly where page breaks should happen — super helpful for contracts or proposals

Basically, instead of exporting the doc as-is, you pull your Monday data into a custom-designed PDF template that looks exactly the way you want. And it’s all automated — once you set it up, it just works.

Hi @therese
I wanted to let you know that many of the features you’re looking for are already possible with the DocCreate app, which integrates directly with monday.com and supports advanced PDF generation from your board data.

Here’s how DocCreate addresses your needs:

:white_check_mark: Add a logo in the upper-left corner on all pages – You can upload your logo and place it anywhere in your custom template, including consistent placement across all pages.
:white_check_mark: Exclude certain fields or instructions – Easily hide or exclude specific fields from your PDFs using conditional placeholders or by simply omitting them from the template.
:white_check_mark: Change the font family – Full typography control allows you to select fonts, sizes, and spacing to match your brand guidelines.
:white_check_mark: Remove borders around dynamic values – Dynamic fields in DocCreate are designed to blend seamlessly into your layout — no extra borders or styling unless you choose to include them.
:white_check_mark: Add headers and footers – Create global header and footer sections that appear across all pages — ideal for branding, contact info, or page numbers.
:white_check_mark: Control page breaks – You can define exactly where page breaks should occur, which is especially useful for multi-section documents like contracts or proposals.

If you’re currently using WorkDocs and want more design flexibility for your exported PDFs, DocCreate is a great alternative that puts layout control back in your hands — and it works with monday automations too!

Yes, this is possible with The PDF Maker (app.thepdfmaker.com).

The PDF Maker gives you full control over the layout and formatting of your PDF documents, solving all the points you’ve raised:

  • :white_check_mark: Add a logotype anywhere on the PDF (including upper-left corner on all pages)
  • :white_check_mark: Exclude specific elements or data fields (like instructions) from the final PDF
  • Customize fonts and typography
  • Remove borders around dynamic values for a cleaner look
  • Add headers and footers to every page
  • Define where page breaks should occur using placeholder structure or design controls

Everything is done via a simple drag-and-drop editor, so no coding is needed. Every new response triggers PDF generation automatically.
