We are really hamstrung by the limitations of My Work. We have run into instances where all assigned items are not showing up on My Work pages and users are understandably starting to lose trust in the feature. From what I can gather, it’s because of 2 reasons…
The cap of 1000 items (that includes hidden/done items)
In order for an item to show in your My Work section, the item must be updated within the last 4 months. Items without an update in that time frame will not appear.
Many of our users will quickly reach that 1000 item cap. The fact the the done items are counted in the 1000 is where we are running into the biggest issue.
We also assign out an entire project at once - which could span 1 year or more. I’d love to avoid automating an update on an item just to fix this issue.
Monday.com needs to stop removing tasks that haven’t been updated in 4 months from the My Work table. It is incredibly important that removal is not up to Monday.com and is up to the person who views their My Work table often. With my long-term planning, I use tasks to plan out what the next few months will look like and My Work allows me to see that scheduled out. But if the tasks are removed, I have to go back to our entire team board and try to sort through what tasks are mine and my coworkers just to figure out what is being removed. Please, please make this an optional feature or discontinue it because it should not be up to Monday.com to decide what gets shown and what doesn’t with my work.
Also having this issue.
We are in product management and plan ahead by 2 years.
We heavily rely on My Work to show us what is due that day/week/2weeks.
We easily go over 1000 items and have items not touched for 4 months due to future planning. These new limitations are destroying our trust and faith in Monday.
Also to note if you go over 1000 items, it doesn’t always remove items that are furtherest away (date wise) quite often items dissapear from my TODAY or OVERDUE list!
Makes 0 sense.
I can understand from a bandwidth perspective why it’s limited to 1000 items, but an item should show up regardless of when it was created/updated. I often set items to be due a year in advance so I’m sure to remember to do them. If you have to create an automation on EVERY board to make a change to EVERY item 4 months after its last update just to get things to show up, that’s not really feasible at the organization level.
