Outlook calendar integration for sub items

Hi, we would like to synchronise sub items with the outlook calendar as well.

Meaning the integration automation that says one an owner has been assigned, it creates an event in the outlook calendar and synchronizes future changes.

This would help us to block time frames for certain tasks in our calendar.

Thanks in advance for your support.

We can automate the integration to sync sub items with Outlook calendar. When an owner is assigned, it will create events and update future changes automatically, helping us schedule tasks effectively.

And how do you manage to do that? We didn’t succeed, it only works for items.

Hello Christina

Welcome to the community

your need for synchronizing sub-items in Monday.com with Outlook Calendar, I propose a seamless integration solution. We’ll set up an automation that triggers the creation of calendar events whenever a sub-item is assigned to an owner. Any changes to the sub-items will automatically update the corresponding calendar events, ensuring your schedule is always current. This setup will help you effectively manage time blocks for tasks, enhancing productivity and time management.

  • Setting up a webhook in Monday.com to detect changes in sub-items.
  • Using a middleware like Zapier or Make.com to handle the automation.
  • Creating or updating Outlook Calendar events based on sub-item changes.

Hey @Christina_K

We developed an app called Outlook Calendar Integration Plus that provides a robust Outlook calendar and monday.com integration which also supports syncing with subitems.

Here’s an example - In the “person column”, you just need to select a person column from the subitems. When the subitem will be assigned, the event will be created.

Here are the key differences from monday’s native solution -

  1. Allows to select which calendar to use (not just the primary default)
  2. Supports subitems
  3. Much more flexible triggers - “no more sync every item”
  4. Allows full mapping - updates, invitees and more
  5. Allows to control the start & end date and time.

You can find it in the monday.com marketplace in the platform or here - Outlook Calendar Integration Plus - monday.com App Marketplace

Hope that helps!
