Outlook integration for replies to emails sent from monday

I am attempting to create a automation/ integration process on Monday.com so when I change a status it sends an email to someone, and that they can reply to that email and it will change another status. I have added the outlook integration to send the email and that is working fine. The next step is where I am having trouble. I have set up the next outlook integration so that person can them reply to the email with a specific keyword in the subject line and it will create a new item with that subject. I also have automatons that will change the status of another item when a new item is created. What I want to do is when they reply with the key word to only update the status and not add the new item. The outlook integration for “When an email is received, create an item in ______.” Doesn’t seem to have the change status option. I don’t know if I missed a step or if this is something you are working on. Also if I go to create a custom automation the “When _______, set Status to something.” This doesn’t seem to have the option that outlook integration has of “When an email is received”. Please let me know if I missed something. This would be a big help for my workflow and seamless for the locations that can update us and not have to open Monday.com

Welcome to the Monday community!

You almost have it. Finish your first automation, “When an email is received, create an item in group”. Choose the group you want your items to go to, then set up a second automation set up “When a new item is created, set it’s status to something”.

So when someone replies to that email, it should create a new item and then new items will have their status changed. Note that any new items created, manually or automatically will have their status set to whatever your second automation defines. If that is an issue, let me know and we can brainstorm a workaround.

Hope this helps!
