Monday.com please answer this question. We need to be able to resize the first column to the size we want!
Column control in general! I’m working with a numbered list. First column is a number, second column is a description. First column takes up 3/4 of the screen and I can’t make the second column wide enough to be useful!
It sounds like either your browser is zoomed in too far. If you need your 1st column to show a lot of text but shorter in length, use the double/triple feature. To the right of the blue “new item” button on any board, 8th icon from left side or third from the right side.
It doesn’t matter how much my browser is zoomed in, out, up or down. I need to be able to set the column width for every column just like you can in any other application.
This one’s been a bit dry for a bit, but I’ll throw up a +1 on it. While I don’t have the same issue exactly as expressed by @JT_Taylor , I would like to be able to resize the first column as well. Or potentially as alternative solutions (if it can’t be resized any smaller for some reason) I’d like to be able to either:
- re-sort it so that the Item column isn’t the first column, or
- modify a board/table setting to add/make visible numbering to the left of the Item field, to essentially make the displayed table into a numbered list (or even as a partitioned part of the Item column… similar to where the update bubble is in the new view but on the left).
There are auto-number and item ID columns, but neither of them fully helps because they an’t be placed to the left of the Items column. Having the actual numbered part of a list sit to the right of the items that they’re numbering (especially if there are more columns as well) is a format that feels weird and off from a readability/usability perspective.
It’s very disappointing that this has not been addressed in the last 3-4 years. It seems like a very quick fix should be possible.
