I would like to be able to notify people x “weekdays” before a due date, instead of just x “days” before a due date.
I’d be okay with setting up multiple automations to cover this, if we could somehow translate the “weekday” of the due date into a number, then have that number qualify which automation is used. but, currently, a formula output isn’t an option for qualifying an automation.

The formula column can’t be used with automatic notifications, but you could use Monday.com’s API (with tools like Make or Zapier) to duplicate the formula and save it to a normal column, which can then be used for notifications

You could use an external app as General Caster to calculate your date and put it in a date column (a real one, not a formula)
Then a simple automation “when date arrives, send a notification” would make it.
