Simple due date based on Push not working

I am using this template -
When an item is created set DATE to today and Push Date 1 by 3 days…

All that is populated is the DATE field with Today’s date. The Date 1 never is populated.
If I change the Date 1 to DATE then the Date column will add 3 to todays date.

What am I missing? I am very new to all of this.

From what it sounds, you need to also the date 1 to today before pushing it.
