Start and end time in date column

Hi Monday,
What is the status about this. I am waiting for this option since 2020. Could you give me any information? Thanks

Niels

Hi all

Also, as a workaround, i advise you to try outTime in Status app which helps to track time the Item has spent in each workflow status easily.
You’ll get user-friendly data on the board in a few seconds.

With our app you can easily manage Work Calendars to track just the time it takes during business hours

Also you will be able to track how much time your issue spends in each status and much more by generating:

:chart_with_upwards_trend: And use charts to visualize your reports a sample of a certain number according to time range/item range, or a single item:

  • Pie Charts
  • Bar Charts
  • Area Charts

The app is also available in the format of board integration.

Start the 14-days free trial to try it out for yourself and share your experience with us.

Hope you find this app helpful,
Valeriia

@Julietteb & @MichalFra We as a community still have not had any updates on this item. It was stated by the Monday Team that work was being done during the 2nd Quarter this year. We are now more than a month past this with silence as far us updates are concerned. I think that we as a community of users deserve better than this.

Hi Everyone! Thank you for your patience around this feature Due to other priorities and our teams capacity, we do not have a confirmed timeline for the release of this feature. Our boards team is currently focusing on finishing the development of other highly requested board features, such as the ability to reorder views, wrap text, and undo capabilities

While we do not have a definite date for this feature, there are many apps mentioned in the thread above that can help with your use case in the meantime.

I will let you know if there are any changes with the product team around this feature.

@amber @MichalFra

Unfortunately none of the above mentioned apps actually manage the functionality that I need. I filled out the workform that I was mentioned in by @MichalFra back in April and as part of the userbase that was included to be able to respond, I was hoping there would be feedback on the information that we provided. really hoping its not going to be another 5 years before we finally have a resolution.

@Julietteb It’s fine if you are going to prioritize those other features. Thank you for the update. The apps mentioned in this thread do -not- work how we need, so please don’t call those a solution and brush this under the rug.

Subscription prices increased last year. Start / end times are standard with any program that uses dates. Like Terry I really hope it isn’t another 5 years before this feature is added.

This is extremely disappointing as this fix was promised in Q2 — and I have been advising clients the fix was finally on its way (after struggling with it for over 5 years). As others have mentioned, none of the third-party apps work as needed. This is a must-have.

Where is this feature?
I can’t believe it doesn’t exist…

We are just about to start Quarter 4 of 2024. It was slated for this update to be part of Quarter 2 of 2024.
Can you please give us a timeframe on when you will finally be implementing a change that has been requested since May 2019 (More than 5 years ago).

The feature of synchronizing sub-items with Google Calendar is also missing.

We need not only the ability to set the duration of a given activity but also to use sub-elements in synchronization with the calendar.

That is a very different issue to what this thread is about. Maybe you need to to create this as it’s own topic.

I have noticed this feature is missing from other platforms as well.

Since this thread is pretty much dead now, I’d be curious to know why its so hard to implement!

I imagine part of the frustration in this thread is how simple the “fix” seems to be.

I am guessing there is more to it…

@Julietteb An update would be most appreciated! Working on new projects for a few clients and the status of this feature weighs heavily on whether I will utilize Monday.com or other platforms. Any information about where this feature is in the pipeline would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Agreed completely, any update from the Monday team would be good…
The complete lack of ongoing communication from a company whose whole platform is based around ease of workflows and communication is mind boggling…
It truly is driving customers away and onto competing platforms.

Since Monday.com Development team has removed this feature request from the Road Map for the foreseeable future, is anyone aware of any third-party apps or automations that would allow start and end times to accurately reflect meetings and appointments on Outlook or Gmail calendars?

It has not been removed. I have been in discussions with the development team regarding some of the needs that I require within my organisiation. They are working on it, they are just making sure they are getting it right and it is a full and robust change.

Part of the reply from the development team is as follows…
Implementing this functionality involves a significant shift in how tasks are structured and includes considerations across multiple components, such as columns (time, date, duration, dependencies), widgets (calendar, Gantt, workload), synchronization with external calendars, exports/imports, API, automations, mobile, and more.
We understand how essential this feature is and appreciate your patience. Our goal is to provide a robust and holistic solution that integrates smoothly across the platform.
