I know I can do an automation if a subitem changes, but I have 23 subitems and 13 of them need separate emails when status changes to completed. Is there a way to make an automations for when a specific subitem is completed to send the email associated with that subitem?

How do you differentiate the subitems that you want a notification for from the rest?
These are the “and only if” options for sub item automations
If you don’t already have a way to differentiate these items, you could add a “Status column” that is titled Notify with two options “Yes” or “No”
Then your automation could look like this
It looks like Gmail and Outlook do not support subitems in automations, so this is limited to monday.com internal notifications.
