I know that I can have the most recent update show up as a “comment” in a ‘status’ column. This is nice; but the problem is that it doesn’t print. What would be more useful to me is an automation that would update a text column value for the item with the text of the update. That way, the update would show up when the table is printed. For instance: On most of my boards, I have a text column titled “latest update”, which is intended to show the text of the latest update. Right now, we have to copy and paste the text. An automation would be very convenient. (I work for a municipality. It is still necessary to provide compiled reports outside of Monday.com for various reasons.)
Is there any update here? I have the same request, When an item is updated/commented, copy the comment to a text field displayed. Additionally, have the ability to print this view.
My current answer is to export this to excel, then xlookup the comment from the item title. This works ok, but I’d rather not have to do this for a presentation, I’d rather just show it all in one screen on the Monday Board.
Thanks for the help.
It would be really helpful to show the most recent update in a text column.
A good example is Smartsheets, where they have a column for the lastest comment:
