When status changes to something, assign person who made the change

I’d like to be able to setup an automation to do the following… when status changes to something, assign the person who made the change to a person column. This would simplify identifying who is working on specific tasks, or performing specific functions on a task.

Do you have Pro or Enterprise? This is something that can be done with the workflow center.

I think I have Enterprise. How would I do it via workflows? I explored workflows a bit and couldn’t see how to get it to identify the person who’d made the update.

It would be the ‘Triggered by’ as the person you’re assigning.

You can achieve this by setting up an automation or workflow rule: when the status changes, use a trigger to automatically assign the task to the user who made the change
