Why can't I make a task locked and dependent on the completion of another task like I can in Asana?

I’m trying to move from Asana so I have a good CRM/marketing ability that I don’t get in Asana. Asana works very well for my team. We create projects from a template. Tasks auto generate and assign from the template and each task is blocked and can’t be completed until it senior task is completed. When a dependent task is opened up because someone completed the prior task, the task owner gets a notification that they can work on the newly opened task. I can’t figure out how to do what seems like a simple and crucial piece of workflow for teams dealing with multiple projects that have step by step tasks.

Hello @CraigASSUME

Take a look at the dependency column, I think that will give you what your looking for.
