Ability to maneuver dropdown data

I would like to have the ability to pivot information from a dropdown option. Say you sold Person A apples, oranges and bananas. You sold Person B apples only and Person 3 bought apples and bananas. I would like the ability to total the number of items we sold by the dropdown choice.
