I’d like to see more colors or shades incorporated into Monday’s design, increasing visual clarity by clearly defining and outlining groups and the rows in them.
Here is an example board with two groups. The entire page is white, and the groups have very thin outlines, so at times I find it visually difficult to differentiate between all the elements.
Here is a mock-up of the same page with some colors added:
In this mock-up, each group has a set of three colors: the group’s header, a lighter shade for the background of a subitem, and an even lighter shade for elements that aren’t actually content (the space to the right of the rightmost column, and the “Add subitem” and “Add item” rows). While the colors are based on the groups’ (blue and purple), they could easily be grayscale instead. (And the subitem header could also get its own color, instead of just white.)
I find this a lot easier to quickly understand; the empty space to the right is no longer visually indistinct, it’s easy to see the subitem and which group it belongs to, and in general the page looks a bit more organized.
