At the moment the Gmail module inside Workflows does not support rich text or HTML which is very limiting and we can’t use it to send email to clients since they look very basic.
The Gmail module inside the regular automation does have support, so I hope this is something that’s not too complicated to add.
A Zapier integration might be a solution. You could set up a “zap” where a trigger in Monday (like a column change) initiates an email via Gmail…it would allow you to customize the formatting using HTML.
Hope this helps!

Another option is using a Monday native add-on named SuperMail which allows sending rich text designed emails, including attachmemts, hyperlinks, images and embed status change buttons in your email templates and also track your emails.
plain text emails can feel a bit underwhelming, especially when you’re trying to create client facing automations. You’re right that the Gmail module in Make.com standalone automations supports HTML, but inside Workflow, t’s still lacking rich text/HTML capabilities
Instead of using the built-in Gmail module inside Workflows, trigger a scenario in a separate Make automation from your Workflow via a webhook.
That external scenario can then use the full-featured Gmail module with full HTML support allowing you to send clean, styled, on-brand emails
It’s a solid bridge until native support is added. And if you need help setting that up, I’ve done this type of hybrid automation many times!
