Right now, I have an automation where, on Board A, if I change the status and move it to our ‘ACTIVE’ group, a new item is created on Board B, mirroring a bunch of info.
What I’d like to do is also automatically assign our Video Production Team when that item is created, but they’re not members of Board A, just Board B. When I try to automate the assignment, it says I need to subscribe them to both boards.
Is there a way/workaround to auto-assign a team specifically in Board B (the new board) from a Board A automation?
The other option I’ve tried: in Board B, any time a new item is created, automatically assign Video Production Team. The problem there is when someone manually creates their own item, it’ll auto-assign the team and they’ll have to change it over, adding a step in the process.
Have you tried monday workflow builder, i think this should be easy to set it up using it, you will be able to select exact team which you want new item to be assigned to without any board related permission issue
This is unfortunately the issue - that’s exactly what my original thought process was, but I can only assign people or teams who are on both boards.
Assuming the below screenshot is what you meant, the Video Team aren’t on Board A, so it won’t let me assign them to the project on Board B, even conditionally. If I’m misunderstanding please correct me though because this absolutely seems like the simplest solution.
Is it possible on Board B to make an automation that’s like “IF an item is created on Board B triggered from Board A, assign Video Team?” To differentiate between a copied/moved task and one created manually within the board?
