Automatically connect a board after its creation in an automation

Hello,

I would like to automatically connect a board after its creation in an automation. And this in function of the board’s name. (To avoid going to connect the table in the automations).

Thank you

Hi Jean

If you’re just making a new board from scratch when triggering the automation to create it, then it’s not possible for the new board to be connected to any other boards automatically.

However, if you have a template board that has a connection with another board that is being used in the automation, then I believe this connection will also be created on the new board that’s created.

Here’s an example of what that could look like: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom

Does this help? If this isn’t what you’re looking to achieve, can you elaborate on what kind of connection you need to create and why?

If this does answer your question, remember to mark as solved

Cheers,
Jenna

Hi Jenna,

Thank you for your help.

Quick question, can we create a group from table to model? Like the monday.com models which offers several tables at once.
thank you

Hi @Jean,

We want to make sure threads stay on topic, so I’ll go ahead and mark my last response as the solution

For any new questions you have, we ask that you open a new thread!

In the meantime, if your new question is whether you can create an entire Folder of Boards via automation, similar to some of the Template options we have, then this is not possible. Our Automations will only create one board at a time.

If you are asking if you can have specific groups created on the new board that is created via automation, then this is possible if you have access to a Pro Level account or higher as this allows for you to create your own Template Boards!: Create your own board template

If you need to have the same group structure created on a recurring basis for a board, then you can use a “template” group that you don’t edit and have that be duplicated as needed (either manually or via automation). Check out this article for more details on how to make a group of recurring tasks: How To Create Recurring Tasks

I hope this helps! Remember to open a new post for new questions or reach out to support@monday.com and we’d be happy to help

Cheers,
Jenna
