Automatically copying a date from one column to another

Hi,

In my simple task management board I want to track the original date I set for completion of a task as well as having a way of showing the current target date as sometimes thigns get rescheduled.

I have a date column for original target date and another column for current target.

What I want to do is avoid double-entry when I first set up a task by having the date I set in the original column copy across the the current target.

I’ve reviewed the automations but can’t see a simple way of doing this.

Can anyone help me out?

I’m also open to suggestions of a better way to manage this if I’m doing it in a clumsy way.

Hi @InnocentBystander,
Welcome to the community! We’re glad to have you here.

You can achieve this by using the VLOOKUP app. You can easily copy a column content from one column to another on the same board or to a different board.
Here’s an article you can follow.
