I record leads in my CRM and assign each one to a lead source. Sometimes, that source is an individual. In such cases, I want to track this person across all of my CRM boards, or at least have a dedicated board that clearly shows the entire referral chain.
My goal is to automatically identify the original referrer of any given lead. For example:
- “Count von Count” (Graf Zahl) only ended up in the system thanks to “Bert,” even though the direct entry came from “Cookie Monster,” who was referred by “Ernie,” who in turn was originally referred by “Bert.”
To achieve this, I’m planning to add an extra field in my CRM, such as “Referred by,” to record who passed along the lead. For instance:
- Count von Count → Referred by: Cookie Monster
- Cookie Monster → Referred by: Ernie
- Ernie → Referred by: Bert
This way, I can trace back through the chain to the original referrer—in this case, Bert.
Has anyone here dealt with similar referral chain setups in monday? Any tips, experiences, or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
