Hi everyone, I am Emmanuel Katto. I’m currently working on a project management setup in monday.com and I need some help with automating task assignments based on custom statuses. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what I’m trying to achieve:
Current Setup:
Board Structure: I have a board for managing our content creation workflow.
Columns:
Task Name
Task Description
Due Date
Status (custom statuses like "Writing", "Editing", "Review", "Approved", etc.)
Assigned To
Team Members: We have different team members responsible for different stages of the workflow:
Writers for the "Writing" stage
Editors for the "Editing" stage
Reviewers for the "Review" stage
Objective:
I want to automate the assignment of tasks based on the status column. For example:
When a task status changes to "Writing", it should automatically be assigned to a Writer.
When the status changes to "Editing", it should automatically be assigned to an Editor.
And so on for the other stages.
What I’ve Tried:
Automations: I explored using automations to change the assignee based on the status change, but I'm having trouble setting it up correctly for multiple users.
Integrations: Looked into possible integrations but haven't found a clear solution that fits our needs.
Can someone provide a step-by-step guide or example on how to set up these automations effectively?
