Automations between boards?

Hi There,
My company requires staff to fill out forms - We need them to be reoccuring, track who has submitted them, and send reminders when people don’t.

I currently have 1 board {EMAIL LIST} that contains a link to the form, the recipients name as a status, a date that the email will be sent out (this will update every 7 days), the recipients email, and a status to determine if the form has been filled out or not.

On a second board {FORM SUBMISSIONS} is where the submitted forms are sent and then automated into different groups via a status column of the submitters name.

Questions:
Is there a way to make an automation to say on:

{EMAIL LIST} "WHEN ITEM IS CREATED + AND NAME STATUS IS “JOHN”

CONNECT BOARDS {EMAIL LIST} & {FORM SUBMISSIONS} AND

{FORM SUBMISSIONS} IF NAME STATUS IS “JOHN” > CHANGE PENDING STATUS TO “COMPLETE”?

Hey Sam! Just to clarify; is your Form Submissions board the one with the form view? Because you mention your Email List board has the link to the form but is that a form view or a link posted in the board description or Updates Section?

If the Form Submissions board has the submitted forms showing up as items there, that is because the form view is set up there. In this case, you may want to set up all the automations and columns within the From Submissions board, and then mirror the columns with necessary information to the Email List board.
