I would love to see monday allow us to connect the multiple boards and have the people column sync across the boards. Right now I am trying to organize when my engineers are traveling and I have multiple boards due to organizational reasons. Well according to Monday support, it is a known limitation that they can’t sync. They told me to create some status columns as a workaround. It would be great if you guys could fix this limitation. It doesn’t make sense to link boards if you can’t actually link them all the way.
As a separate note, It would be fantastic to be able to manually color code the calendar. I don’t want it to randomly assign colors, because for example some people in my org are colorblind. Also it decided to make one of the colors for an engineer the same color as the no value color, which makes literally zero sense. So I would love to see the calendar greatly improved. It has the potential to be super useful, its just being held back by these silly limitations.
Hey Jeffrey! Shannon here with the monday team. We really appreciate your feedback! Currently, customizing the colors for the Calendar View/Widget is not on the product roadmap. However, please upvote the feature request here to continue making a case for it–I am more than happy to re-flag this with our Product team to prioritize it again!
Regarding the initial feature you flagged, I’d love to learn a little more about your current setup, specifically which variables you selected in your Calendar View/Widget settings. When you say “sync across the boards,” are you looking to see all of the assigned projects for X person to share the same color in the view/widget?
I reviewed your chat conversation with my colleague Maria, and you mentioned that a few projects on the second board were appearing as “No value” with no color assigned. If you’ve selected the People Column as one of the variables in your view/widget, it could be that no one has yet been assigned to those projects. When projects are unassigned, there is no user profile to associate to the project in the People Column and the platform categorizes it as “No value.”
