If you’re using a People column you can directly restrict the number of people who can be assigned:

Thank you very much, but users choose two on a form, if I set up as you show, there is an error but the message is just: “Form submit failed. Try again later”. Is it possible to forbid to choose two on the form?

I also get the same result trying it on a form. I don’t think there’s a way to prevent more than one person being initially selected, this could be a good one to submit to monday.com as feedback! For now you could add an explanatory note for your users?
