Connect 2 subitem from different boards to ONE column in a 3rd board?

We have a JOBs board, where we have our JOBs as Parent items, with the single products of the job as SUBITEMS.
Furthermore we have a DELIVERY Board (the Item names of the Products/Subitems) are mirrored into the respective Delivery item. So far so good.
We have a separate ARCHIVE JOBS board, where we move our completed Jobs.

THE PROBLEM: I want to see in our DELIVERY board the contents/products of this “archived” Job. I CAN NOT connect the existing “connect board” column in DELIVERY to the SUBITEMS of the “archived” Job (in addition to the SUBITEMS from the JOBS board). I have to create a NEW “connect boards” connection in order to see the contents.

Is there any way to access the SUBITEMS from 2 boards in ONE column???

Hello, @Michael_90

Based on the image description and your query, it seems you’re facing a limitation within the board management tool where you cannot connect subitems from two different boards (JOBS and ARCHIVE JOBS) to a single “connect board” column in your DELIVERY board. Unfortunately, if the tool’s current functionality requires creating a new “connect boards” connection for each board, there might not be a direct way to merge subitems from two boards into one column within the tool’s standard features.

However, here are a couple of suggestions that might help:

Check for Updates or Extensions: Ensure that your board management tool is up-to-date, as new features or updates might offer more flexibility. Additionally, check if there are any extensions or plugins available that could extend the functionality to suit your needs.
Use Third-Party Integration: Look for third-party integration tools that can sync data across boards. Some tools specialize in creating complex workflows and might offer the functionality you need.
Custom Scripting: If the platform supports it, you might be able to write a custom script or use an API to programmatically merge the subitems into one column.
Manual Workaround: As a last resort, you could manually update a single “connect board” column with links to both the JOBS and ARCHIVE JOBS subitems, though this would not be automated.

I hope this step is helpful for you.
