Copy output of function to a column?

Hey all,
Is there a way to take a number thats generated from a formula column and copy it into a number column?

I’ve looked at Column Magic and Autoboost but they don’t recognise formula columns at the moment :frowning:

Thanks
Drew

Hi @johnners - check out General Caster, you can then utilize cast the formula within the app to the column of your choice.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Hey! Can you let me know what the “formula” is when I use "When column changes perform (“formula”) and cast result to column.

I have a formula column called “# of days” and I want it to reflect to a numbers column using general caster.

Hi @Mindflows_Shanine - are you looking for the number of days between two dates? If so, in general caster you can use the following formula:

DAYS({item's End Date},{item's Start Date})

You would need to setup two recipes with General Caster, one to monitor Start Date and one to monitor End Date for changes:

Hope this helps!
Mark

Hi Mark!

Thank you for your response. I did the formula as you have shown but I got an error.

Here’s the board

Here’s the automation I set up with General Caster

Here’s the error I received

Hoping for feedback! Thank you so much.

Hi @Mindflows_Shanine - you need to use DAYS() not DATE(). This is why you are getting the error.

Hey! You can use Column to Column app to copy the value from formula column to another standard column (text, number, date, …).

With this app you can select the actual formula column in the recipe.

Pricing is based solely on the number of seats, the usage is unlimited.
