We add new clients to a Prospects board and once the client decides to engage in services, we mark a status change.
What we would like to do is create a Board from a template for the new client based on information contained in the columns (check… this is easy), but we want that new board to be connected automatically to the original item that the status was changed.
How do I connect two items together on a board that was just created? And ultimately, I think I want the connection to occur on the newly created board so that there is ONLY one column on the original Project Board? I see the connect columns automation based on logic, but I only want ONE item to be connected based on a status change.
Prospects Board –> create new board for each new item and connect back to item.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I might be able to help you with connecting two items together on a board.
Our Mirror Item Multiple Boards allows you to mirror the same item to multiple boards.
You can setup an automation like ‘When status changes to something → mirror item to Target Board Target Group’.
The mirrored item is connected to the original item, and any changes on the original item, automatically sync on the mirrored item (updates + replies included).
You can also add a ‘Visual Indicator’ to the mirrored item for identification process.

so the thing with this setup is: an automation can’t point towards something that is not yet created.
Out of the box the portfolio solution (ENT tier only) could be the way to go as it would allow to create a new project and connect it automatically to the main board (portfolio): https://support.monday.com/hc/en-us/articles/13337066797202-The-portfolio-solution
Besides that, you can also look into make.com as a workaround and automate it that way.
