We need to be able to change the display of the button in the button column, especially the text and also the colour. “Click me” in blue is counter-productive when you have multiple buttons, and also where the button is only to be used in rare cases or is destructive. People see “click me” and they do without any hesitation.
What are you trying to achieve
Stop users from inadvertently clicking a button column when they don’t need to
Hello! Thank you for submitting your feature request! I wanted to highlight the Button Column’s settings with you because it is possible to customize the text and color of the button.
Clicking on the column’s 3-icon, select “Settings” > “Customize Button column,” like so:
Hi Shannon, no i am not getting the customisation pop-up you have shared.
For button columns, existing and new, in any board in any workspace, when i click “customise button column” i get a pop up that offers a “set up” button (first screenshot below") which when clicked takes me to an automation creation page with a blank automation (screenshot 2, even when i have already set up an automation).
If this is a bug please advise what can be done to fix
Hi Shannon, please re-open this topic at the request of monday support desk – the missing feature is the capability to customise the button styling when the button is connected to a Workflow, rather than a board automation. You cannot customise a button column unless it is attached to a board automation, however now you can attach workflow automations to button columns and in that case cannot customise the button column.
The button column functionality does not support customisation with workflows even though it supports triggers from workflows. The button column functionality needs to be updated to be fit-for-purpose with this new trigger.
Hi! Thanks for the update and clarifying that your Button Column is tied to the workflow builder feature. I am going to update your feature request title to reflect this clearly for other users to upvote.
