Dadhboard or connected boards?

Say I have multiple boards for different projects.

If I want to display a roll up of all the “to do” items in a new single board or dashboard, what is the best way to do this?

single board or dashboard?
It looks like you can add other board items to another board. But it is a manual task.
If I just want them pulled automatically.

thanks for any help.

Hey Rocky! Dashboards and the Connect Board Feature, are both great options. The best option is going to be dependent on your personal workflow and needs.

The Dashboard option may be quicker to set up. The Battery Widget is great for seeing the progress of tasks across multiple boards and The Table Widget is great if you’re wanting to see these items in a table format

If using the Connect Board feature, we call this a high-level and low-level set up. And it can be automated! I’ve included an article, which dives into this in detail – What are High-Level and Low-Level boards?

Hope this helps!

To consolidate “to do” items from multiple boards into a single view or dashboard automatically, there are a few approaches you can consider depending on the platform you are using for managing these boards (e.g., Trello, Asana, Jira, etc.). Here are some general strategies:

  1. Using Built-in Features (if available):

Board Integrations or Power-Ups: Some project management tools like Trello offer integrations or power-ups that allow you to link cards across different boards or pull information from multiple boards into one view. Check if your tool supports such integrations and if they meet your needs.

  1. Third-party Integrations:

Zapier or Automate(dot)io: These automation platforms can connect various apps and automate workflows. You can create a “zap” or automation that triggers when a new task is added to a board in one project, and then automatically creates a corresponding task in your consolidated board or dashboard.
