Please allow the option of having new SSO users automatically created as Viewers until an admin changes them into contributors.
Really need this feature. We have X licences and are at that limit as we only need that many Members. The rest are ok to come in at Viewer level. However being on SSO people can just join and immediately get created as Members and we then go over our limit and start getting the dreaded “You have too many users” email. I then have to go in and manually check each person.
Monday are telling us off for going over the limit but don’t give us any automated tools to stop that happening.
Anyone got any ideas for a hacky workaround?
We are having the same issue. It would be great if Monday defaults to “Viewer” role and the admin can elevate to “Member” role. Support have recommended using a Security group to manage access through the Identity provider but I have yet to confirm if the whole process will work.
My organisation is currently working on an SSO implementation, though from my understanding if you want to manage viewer access the security group using SAML would mean that at minimum you’re managing access for users that are intended to be viewers from 365 and the rest are ‘default access’ which translates to ‘managed within monday’ to make things less complex you woud likely create a security group for each permission set and start managing permisions for Monday within 365 itself.
