Hi guys, I’m a bit lost with the permissions matrix.
I have an external user (a different email domain) who I want to be able to view & edit data in a specific board.
I want to block view access to all other boards. How do I do that?
Thanks

Hey Ryan, it sounds like inviting this user as a Guest would work for what you need!
A Guest will only be able to view and edit data on Shareable Boards you invite them to. They will not be able to view information on Main or Private Boards.

Thanks Malia!
I actually do want them (a specific external user) to be able to edit data in a specific board, and eliminate access to any other boards in this workspace.
Hope that makes sense.
A Guest user has the ability to edit data in Shareable Boards you choose to invite them to, if they are not invited to those boards, they will not be able to access them. It seems like this is what you’re looking for. Let me know though if you have any other questions!
Hi,
I want a specific customer to have update/ write access to a specific board, and block his access to all other boards.
How do I do that?
@malia.monday
Monday support?
Anyone?
Hey Ryan,
Itay here from the monday.com team.
When inviting a guest user to a Shareable board, they only have access to that specific board. They will not see any other boards on your account, just as requested.
If you are interested in sharing another board with them, you’d have to convert it to a Shareable board, and following that, actively inviting them to that specific board.
This means there is no need to block them from other boards as they do not have any access to them in the first place. Do note, this refers to Guest Users
I hope that this helps in clarifying the matter.
Thanks @ItayMonday,

Hey Ryan,
Exactly as I said in my previous message.

Can you restrict which VIEWS within your board that the external user has access to, @ItayMonday ?? I have a similar issue but rather than creating multiple boards, I am wondering if I can ONLY give external access to one VIEW within my board…
Or will they see all other VIEWS?
Hi @WaxConsultingGroup - guests will have visibility to all views on the board. You have a few options:

thanks mark - that wont work then. do you know how i can then “mirror” a group of tasks over to a new board so it syncs in real time without manual duplication efforts?
Hi @WaxConsultingGroup - you can use mirroring, however users needs access to the source board of the mirror columns in order to view it. The other option is to use make.com (or other integration tools) to script a synchronization or utilize 3rd party marketplace apps such as VLOOKUP Auto-Link to manage it.
Hope this helps!
