Restricting only one of several guests to view only

Hello.

We have a shareable board and the guests can fully edit the board. However, we have one very active guest who is changing items and adding more work.

We are looking for a way to restrict this guest to view only, but still have access to the updates/comments. All the other guests would be able to continue to have editing access.

We have tried the following, but with no success:

  • Setting up a new user role under Guest, however the default permissions include editing
  • Provide a link to a View, however then they won’t be able to see the updates

Other workarounds may be the following, however once again I don’t believe it will check all the boxes:

  • Changing permissions for the board
  • Assigning the user to view each and every line (seems like a bit of work)
  • Restricting the permissions for each of the columns
  • Creating a separate board for this one user which means mirroring and connecting everything to another board (seems like too much work)

Any solutions to restrict one guest to viewing only, but still accessing the updates and comments? Please let me know! Thanks.

Hello @cmohrmann !

What I would suggest is restricting editing in all of the columns and adding the users you want to have editing rights to them. I would suggest creating a team and adding the team, but I checked and unfortunately you cannot add guests in a team :frowning: .

It be may a little bit of work, but this should resolve your problems.
