We have several boards that we create as part of our onboarding process. As we use these boards we have found that sometimes we need additional information. We can add the columns to the boards (in this case they’re status columns,) but we then need to add all the same options in the same column style to the 6 other boards we’ve already built. It would make the ease of use a lot easier. We don’t need them to connect to the boards, we just need the same status options and colors.
Hello @amandaCNMG,
You can use the Duplicates and Uniques app to achieve that as demonstrated in this video. The only caveat is that, you can’t copy over the colors. It’s a limitation by monday.com that I’ve reported here. Maybe in the future, they may work on that.

Hi @amandaCNMG !
One solution to this is to create your status column with the labels and colors you choose and then save the column as a template. Once the column template is made you can add to any board.

I hope this helps!

Hi @amandaCNMG - One thing to add: Saving a column as a template as suggested above is a premium feature available only on Enterprise plans. There is also work underway in monday․com to make it even easier to roll out changes across children boards that were created from a “parent” template. If you are interested in learning more about the power features of Enterprise, I’d be happy to provide a private walkthrough for you and answer any questions.

EDIT: Some older Pro plans that have been monday․com users for over 2 years may have grandfathered access to the Column templates feature, check your account to verify.
The only problem with this is that you cannot save a column as a template on a board that was imported from an external source. The option is greyed out.
Why does it seem like it is possible even with free version to save column as template but only for pre-loaded boards…?
The feature of saving columns as templates is helpful; however, to drive it over the finish line, it would be more helpful if when you updated the template, the boards that used the template also updated.
As it stands now, it’s only time-saving when you originally use the template.
It should be marked as a template column somehow, and then whenever you add to the template, immediately all boards are updated that used that template.
