Feature Request: Ability to Link Multiple Subitems from Different Boards to a Single Connect Boards Column

Description

Hello Monday.com team,

I’ve run into a limitation with the current Connect Boards feature when working with subitems.

Context:

I have Project A and Project B boards.

Each of these projects has items with subitems.

I also have a central board (Board 1) where I want to manage and track connections.

What are you trying to achieve

Problem:
Right now, I can:

Connect Project A’s subitems to a column in Board 1 :white_check_mark:

Connect Project B’s items (but not subitems) to the same column in Board 1 :white_check_mark:

But, if I want to connect Project B’s subitems, I’m forced to create a separate column in Board 1. This defeats the purpose, because the idea is to have one single column in Board 1 that consolidates connections from both Project A and Project B subitems.

Feature Request:
Please add the ability to:

Connect subitems from multiple boards to the same Connect Boards column in another board.

Benefit:

This would allow teams to maintain a cleaner, more unified structure instead of having multiple redundant columns.

It also keeps tracking and reporting more efficient, especially for projects that rely heavily on subitems.

Thank you for considering this improvement — it would make a big difference for teams managing multiple projects with subitems.

Hey @Gabinhoboy ,

If I may propose an alternative and much cleaner way - Try our Mirror Item Multiple Boards app. It allows you to add the same item/subitems to multiple boards with complete sync functionality.

For your particular use-case -

  1. You can add the item along with its subitems from Project A and Project B to Board 1.
  2. Anytime the item/subitem changes on project A or B, the changes will automatically sync to Board 1 (including updates + replies).
  3. Our app also supports adding the subitem as an Item to a different board with full syncing, in case you need to.

Mirror Item allows you to mirror items and subitems with complete context, so you don’t need to rely on challenging connect boards columns and face limitations.
