Gantt show multiple dates/timelines on one row

An item like a task or project could have multiple dates and timelines associated with it. It could be a Target Date and an Actual Date, or it could be a timeline of when it will be worked on and an actual deadline to show the buffer time between them.

In the Gantt chart view, if multiple date and timeline fields are selected, it will create a separate row for each date even though they are associated with the same item. As Gantt rows are sorted by date, you could have items totally out of order like:

  • Task A Target Date 11/30/2021
  • Task B Target Date 12/05/2021
  • Task A Actual Date 12/06/2021
  • Task C Target Date 12/15/2021
  • Task B Actual Date 12/17/2021

It would be great if the Gantt chart settings allowed you to select a “group” of dates and timelines that should stay together on a single row of the item. This would create a lot of flexibility for users to implement their own Baseline functionality and many other use-cases.
