Gradient color representation of Timeline/Gantt progress over time

I would like for my timeline widget to not display a single color for the bar based on status, but rather a gradient color(s) that represent how the item has changed status over its life. E.g., a status starts as on track in week one, falls behind in week 2, at risk in week 3, then back on track week 4. I would like the timeline bar to be one quarter green, yellow, red, green, respectively, to represent how the item has progressed over time. Then, anything beyond the “today” vertical line would be gray, as it is in the future and thus has not had a status associated with it yet.
