What setups or best practices have worked well for you when tracking team capacity across boards?
We maintain individual project boards for each project, each with a Resource Planner to plan and allocate forecasted hours. On top of that, we have a capacity manager where all these resource planners from multiple project boards are connected. This gives us a consolidated view for forecast hours and overall capacity planning.
On each project board, we also track actual/burnt hours using a dedicated column. To visualize everything together, we’ve built a dashboard that connects all relevant boards and uses the Workload widget to show total burnt hours across projects.
This combination helps us compare planned vs actual effort, spot overloads early, and manage capacity more effectively across boards.
The most common setup is using a Workload Widget on a dashboard that pulls people + timeline/date columns from all relevant boards. Standardizing column names across boards makes this much easier.
