How can I integrate the JIRA subtasks as Monday.com Subitems?

I’ve been able to integrate JIRA tasks with Monday.com. However, the subtasks are not transferred to Monday.com. I would like to also integrate the JIRA sub tasks as Monday.com Sub tasks under the main task. Does anyone have a recipe that helps do this? I know sub tasks were not supported some years ago but maybe this has changed.

Now, it’s possible to sync JIRA subtasks into Monday.com, although setting them up as subitems (i.e., Monday.com sub-tasks) requires a few extra steps and sometimes a workaround.

Here’s how you can approach this:

As of the latest updates:

  1. Go to Monday.com > Integrations Center.
  2. Select JIRA Cloud or JIRA Server, depending on what you use.
  3. Choose the recipe:
  • "When an issue is created in JIRA, create an item in this board."
  • AND also add:
    "When a subtask is created in JIRA, create a subitem in this item."
    4.(Note: this depends on your plan and whether subitems are enabled.)*

Hi Claire, I have been working on the subtask integration and tried several different ways to add the subtasks but maybe I am missing something.
