How to get Projects and Dependencies to skip over weekends

Adding to this thread as well. This would be such a useful functionality, especially since our content often goes live on the weekends, so on our Post Date column we want to include weekends, but we only work on these projects and estimate the timelines based on work weeks, so want to exclude weekends from our project timelines when estimating for clients.

Adding to this topic as well. This is an essential feature that should be part of the native platform and not requiring a 3rd party plug in.

This is exactly the solution I am looking for!
Have a timeline column without weekends but schedule release dates on weekends.

Has Monday.com put this basic functionality in to the core product yet or is this still creating a market for 3rd party software companies to put in something you’d reasonably expect anyway?

It’s like buying a car then having to pay extra for one with an engine!

We are also having this issue. Bumping the thread again to hopefully get some attention. Agree totally with @FrancisElliott it should be available at all levels. Even if was a Workspace setting this would help enormously.

I’ve started our business on trial with Monday & just ran into this as an issue. We run a 4 day working week and the inability for us to customise our calendar around this is annoying enough that I would consider cancelling our account and running different software. Otherwise the software has been good so far, has anyone had any contact about a potential fix from Monday.com? We are also not interested in a 3rd party add on.

I’ve posted above but this issue needs to be fixed. I’ve tested the third party apps - none of which work. This is costing our company money at this point

We are also looking for a solution to this problem without resorting to third-party apps. We have several boards with numerous items with finish-to-start dependent timelines. Manually adjusting all of those to account for weekends makes the dependencies far less useful.

Hey everyone,

@bradhasha I appreciate you flagging this with me.

I hear your frustration and have shared your comments/feedback with the team in charge for some more concrete answers and updates on where this currently stands.

Please bear with me as I work to get some information for you

Additionally, it’s imperative to incorporate this aspect into the core platform itself rather than relying on third-party plugins.

Was really hoping to find a solution here. This issue is the bane of my existence and will likely be the reason management forces us to drop this application altgether.

I constantly read that people (just like me) do not want to pay for third party solutions. Has monday ever considered to make them free for subscribers and pay the developers of third party apps for their solutions that monday itself did not have time to develop themselves?
This would definitely make them more attractive and take pressure from monday.

Nearly November, no update since promising one in April. I’m new to Monday and relieved I only purchased month-to-month, as this is such an obvious showstopper and appears to not be seen as such by Monday? What do people use this for, nicely formatted notes? It’s marketed as a project management tool (among other things), and bedrock of that is setting what your team’s workdays are and are not so that dependencies know which days are available for the durations set. This is not something for an app, this is core. We certainly won’t be porting any more projects into this new tool until we learn where this functionality is on the roadmap.
