How to have a "master board" and "sub boards"

Hello everyone,

Our team is new to monday.com and we work with a lot of sub-contractors. We are looking for a way to share individual boards with each subcontractor and then have those individual boards appear on a master board that only the full-time team can access. Additionally, we want it it so that we could add a couple columns on the master board that would not be visible to our subcontractors. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @schuyler,

It sounds like our low level board and high level board guide might help you here! This way you can connect those low-level boards (sub-contractor boards) into that high level board (master board).

As for restricting columns, you can utilise column permissions for this purpose. That said, if you’d like to restrict view on an item level, you’d need to implement item viewing permissions which is a feature available on our Enterprise plan

Let me know if this makes sense!

This is perfect, thank you!

Hey @schuyler, if you start hitting connected board limits you can always try our monday app. Its called Master Data, which will let you connect as many source boards as you like to a Master Board
