Ideas to deal with calendar entries?

Hey guys,
I’ve been tasked with adding some info to a new board.

I’ve set up a new board which items are the day of the week, then the sub items have the client name, method of contact, date of contact and a follow up date.

So,

Group → W/C 01/05/23
Item - > Monday
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Item - > Tuesday
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Item - > Wednesday
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Item - > Thursday
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Item - > Friday
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact
Subitem → Client Name, Method (Email / Twitter / SMS), Time of contact, Follow up contact

We are looking to import that information into an outlook calendar - based on the follow up date/time (so if the follow up is 15/05/23 @ 09:00 then a calendar entry is make in outlook to contact Client Name on 15/05/23 @ 09:00).

Is this possible as the built in outlook connection doesn’t seem to work with subitems.

Any ideas?

Hi johnners

I’m curious to why you can’t use your subitem data in the Item level context. If the sole purpose is to get data from Monday.com to Outlook to schedule events in Outlook Calendar, the entry method could be more efficient utilizing the Items (and not subitems).

Utilize item columns for your information, “Client name”, “Method”, “email”, etc…
Add a date column for when you want the follow up date to be.

I think you will find having your data ordered that way, you can filter your records easily, and I would imagine the outlook connection to work just fine for you. You could even use a form to collect those events you want to “Push” to Outlook.

(This all depends on why you need sub-items grouped under the days of the week rather than each item being it’s own Outlook event.)
