Is it possible to share a single item with someone inside or outside Monday.com? I often need to share single items but not entire boards with key staff, especially Cinematographers.

Hi There!
What you are asking is possible just a bit of a different approach when it comes to security.
The structure to be able to do this is:

Make sure to have a People column where the person you want to share with can be assigned. Outside people will need to have a guest account which is free.

Go to Three Dots > Board Permissions > Viewing Permissions > Select View only tasks that are assigned to users

Once the people column is assigned, they can only see the items they are assigned to and is set for future shares for the person assigned in the people column.
Additional Options:
You can always share the item link by going to the conversation bubble > three dots > Copy Item link and send that to the person to direct them to where you want them to look.

I notice you’re a long time monday.com user - I wonder if Enterprise licenses and the subsequent entitlements would be a better position for you. See the features/abilities available in an Enterprise account here.
You would of course have full control in terms of security and permissions, but also included onboarding hours with a dedicated Client Success Manager who would check in with your team monthly to ensure all is well and help maintain optimal use of the platform. That also protects you if you lose the person who set up or was most familiar with your workflows.
