I am trying to create an automation or formula that will move all the dates in column A to column B after a predesignated amount of time has passed.
Has anyone had any success in doing something similar?

Welcome to the Community!
You should be able to achieve this but will need the help of something like Column Magic (search the app marketplace - it has a free account you can work with).
It enables you to copy the value in a column (including mirror columns) and paste it into another/more suitable column. You run supporting native automation to clear column A afterwards if desired.
