Pop Up Notification with Automation

Description of the Need:

Currently, Monday.com only supports notifications via email. However, in many scenarios, an in-app pop-up notification would be more effective for capturing users’ attention and directing them towards important information or next steps.

This feature could notify users of errors, remind them of pending tasks, or guide them through specific process steps—especially valuable when processes extend beyond Monday.com and involve external systems or manual steps. Pop-ups would provide clear instructions and seamless transitions for users across more complex, cross-functional workflows.

Use Cases for Pop-Up Notifications:

  1. Feedback on Task Completion: When a user completes a task, a pop-up could appear with a message like, “Great! Now proceed with…,” to indicate the next step.

  2. Reminders for Missed Steps: Before critical actions are triggered, a pop-up could ask, “Are you sure you completed…?”

  3. Automation Information: If an automation, such as sending an email to a client, is about to occur, a pop-up could notify the user in advance, saying, “The automation is now sending an email to the client.”

Benefits for Users:

These pop-up notifications would help users maintain an overview of ongoing and upcoming tasks, particularly in structured boards or complex external workflows. This feature would create a more transparent, intuitive experience by ensuring that important steps aren’t missed, ultimately improving workflow efficiency and user satisfaction.

We’re confident this feature would make Monday.com even more valuable and functional for businesses and teams that rely on comprehensive process management and seamless user guidance.

Voting for this! In reasonably complex boards, it sometimes becomes unclear to the user why an automation did what it did. This is particularly true when some automations are in place for ‘error-trapping’ purposes to undo something that goes against the workflow logic - which is to say reversing the prior action of the user. Being able to provide an explanation for the ‘why’ of a particular automation would be a HUGE UX aid.

This would be a great feature!
