Recurring tasks for a specific month

How can I set a recurring task to happen during a specific month?

For example, every February 15 create a task to mow the lawn.
Every April 1 pull a prank on my coworkers.

Thanks

Great question! Monday.com doesn’t support yearly recurring tasks on specific dates out-of-the-box, but there are a few ways to work around it depending on how automated or manual you want the process to be. Here’s how you can set it up:

Option 1: Use Automations + Date Column (Semi-Manual)

  1. Create a board called something like “Yearly Tasks.”
  2. Add an item for each recurring task (e.g., “Mow the lawn,” “Pull a prank”).
  3. Add a Date column called “Task Date.”
  4. Set the task dates (e.g., Feb 15, April 1).
  5. Add an Automation:
  • Trigger: “When date arrives and status is something, notify someone or create item in another board.”
  • You can also reset the status so it loops each year, but this will need you to manually update the date every year.

Option 2: Use 3rd Party Integration (e.g., Zapier or Make)

If you want to make it truly automatic every year, you can:

  1. Use Zapier or Make.com.
  2. Set up a trigger like:
  • “Every year on February 15” → “Create item in Monday.com board with task name ‘Mow the lawn’.”
  • You can do the same for April 1 with the prank task.
  1. This way, you don’t need to update anything manually every year.

Option 3: Use Google Calendar + Integration

  1. Create yearly recurring events in Google Calendar (Feb 15, Apr 1).
  2. Use Zapier to connect Google Calendar to Monday.com:
  • When that calendar event happens, create a task in Monday.com.
