Sharing dashboard with guests

Hello congratulations monday on doing this feature requested many times!
Im trying this and works fine!!!

Only negative thing, and question is how to control it?

  • Guest user is allowed to create dashboard widgets

Can this be configured?= or by default be setted to Not allowed?

Hi @hlopezvc,

It depends on the type of Dashboard that you’re talking about. If you’re using a standalone Dashbord (the ones where you can connect multiple boards to), you can’t subscribe a guest to those, so they can’t edit anything. So I assume that you’re asking about Dashboard views inside Shareable boards, which allow guest users to access and modify.

In this case, yes, it’s possible to configure who can add new widgets to the board’s views.

All you have to do is access the board’s permission settings by clicking the three dot menu on the top right corner of your board, then click on Board permissions and finally select the option Write updates on items only in the Editing permissions section. That will allow guest users to only create updates on items, and not modify any board data or board view setting.

Let me know if that solves your issue!

Hi@Hernan Lopez,

By default, guest users might have certain limited permissions, but the specific settings can be adjusted according to your organization’s needs.
1)you can log into administrator
2) In the top-right corner of your Monday dashboard, click on your profile picture or initials, and then select “Admin.”
3)In the Admin section, you should find the “Permissions” tab or option. Click on it to access user permissions settings.
4) Look for the specific user role associated with “Guests” or “Guest Users” in the list of roles.
5)Find the permission related to creating dashboard widgets. It might be labeled as “Can Create Dashboards” or something similar.
6)Adjust the setting to “Allowed” or “Not Allowed” depending on whether you want to permit guest users to create dashboard widgets.
7)After making any modifications, remember to save the updated permission settings.

Hope its helpful to you.
