Currently, files in the files column are represented by an icon, making it difficult to identify the file’s content at a glance. I’d like to see an enhancement that allows naming files in the files column similar to how links can be named in the link column.
In a cell with a single file, it should display the user-defined name.
I understand the challenge of displaying names for multiple files in one cell but perhaps the solution there is hovering over the cell displays a list of file names.
My goal with this feature is to encourage staff to utilize our work doc templates for various purposes, such as project scope, RACI matrix, retrospectives, etc. Currently, these documents are individual files that need to be named and organized in folders within the left navigation panel.
Storing these files directly within the board would reduce clutter and streamline access. However, the inability to see file names in the files column makes this approach challenging to adopt.
